Travelers request your walk
Travelers browse Local Amigo profiles on our website, view maps of your neighborhoods, and select their preferred host. You have complete control and decide whether to accept or decline the request based on your availability.
Welcome all languages
Don't worry if language barriers exist. You are encouraged to use translator apps, cue cards, or any creative communication methods to guide travelers smoothly if you don't share the same native language.
You’re a local friend (not a tour guide)
Once a walk is confirmed, you connect with the traveler on WhatsApp. You provide a 2-hour orientation walk showing them how to navigate safely, where to shop for less, and how to save time. Share your daily life and local secrets without history facts or scripts.
Fast, performance-based payout
Once you finish the walk, notify us via WhatsApp. We immediately send an email with a 1-click rating link to the traveler. Once they rate your walk, you receive your base pay (plus a bonus for a 5-star wow factor) securely via bank-to-bank transfer within 24 hours.

Buenas Colombia is looking for dynamic, reliable people to join our community platform. And you do not have to be bilingual! (It helps, but it is not required; we want the experience to be real and authentic).
We aren't looking for typical, boring tour guides who recite historical dates from memory. We are looking for Local Amigos: friendly neighborhood orientation allies who want to provide a welcoming, authentic, stress-free arrival for international travelers.

What is a Local Amigo?
As a Local Amigo, you act as the traveler’s first trusted friend in your city. You will meet them in your neighborhood for a casual 2-hour orientation walk.
Your primary mission is to ensure that, in just 2 hours, they achieve 3 fundamental things:
Save Money
Avoiding scams and tourist traps. They will learn where to shop at real local prices, how to pay for public transit correctly, and which local apps to use.
Absolute Safety
Knowing exactly which streets to walk down with peace of mind, which areas to avoid completely, and how to move like a local without drawing unwanted attention.
Maximize Their Time
Skip the hours spent reading blogs or waiting in long lines. Get straight-to-the-point local hacks on how to skip the lines, book the right tickets, and get around without getting lost.
During the walk, you will also help them:
Understand local transportation systems (like Uber, the Metro, airport transfers, TransMilenio, or taxis).
Know exactly which ATMs won't charge insane withdrawal fees, where to get a SIM card in 5 minutes without getting scammed, and how to pay like a local from day one.
